01
The Challenge
Modern trains offer a rich array of sensory information (GPS, speed, timestamps, doors, locks, etc.). This diverse array of raw data needs to be consolidated, validated and matched with train schedules, delays, stations and vehicle master data to enable useful reporting.
02
The Solution
Eviden PACE delivers efficient data processing and matching algorithms to provide a comprehensive and user-friendly reporting solution. This was achieved through:
- Customized raw data parsing
- Smart and customized matching of raw data to planned schedules, stations and other master data
- Calculation of passenger counts and automatic correction of measurement errors
- Extensive configuration tailored to the customer’s needs
- Live reporting through various dashboards
- Exporting functionality
- Best-in-class monitoring
Eviden was responsible for the entire end-to-end process, including architecture, implementation, testing and operations. For optimal functionality, reliability and scalability the application is hosted on Microsoft Azure.
What you get
- Fast and automatic data processing
- High performance reporting
- Based on Microsoft Power BI
- Rich prebuilt reports

The client ÖBB
Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) is the largest railway company in Austria. ÖBB Personenverkehr, a 100% subsidiary-group of ÖBB, is responsible for all local and long-distance connections.
Their mission is to motivate as many people as possible to switch to train and bus in order to relieve environmental strains, conserve resources, save energy and keep CO2 emissions low. ÖBB rail transport services save an average of 4.2 million tons of CO2-eq per year.
